Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Tasty Tasting, run by Uplift Duo ("we", "us"). By using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

Who can use it

• You must be 18 or older.
• Alcohol tastings are only for people of legal drinking age where they live (21 or over in the US). We do not sell alcohol.
• Please read Drink responsibly.

Accounts

You sign in with a 6-digit code we email you. Keep your email account secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@upliftduo.com if you think someone else is using it.

Free tasting

You can try one free Quick tasting of up to 3 items without an account. We limit free tastings using a browser cookie and a one-way hash of your IP address. New accounts also get 3 free credits, once. Please do not try to get around these limits.

Credits and payments

• Quick research costs 1 credit per item. Deep dive costs 5 credits per item.
• You can buy credit packs. Prices are shown in US dollars on the pricing page, and payments are handled by Stripe.
• Credits never expire, cannot be transferred and have no cash value.
• Credits for items we cannot research, or for a failed tasting, are returned to your balance automatically.
• We may change prices for future purchases. Credits you already bought keep their value.

Refunds

In short: you can ask for a refund within 14 days of purchase if none of the pack has been spent. Otherwise there are no cash refunds, except where the law requires one. Details are on the Credits and refunds page.

What you can upload and do

Please use the service in good faith. You agree not to:

• upload anything illegal, or anything you do not have the right to share;
• upload photos of people without their consent, or photos of private documents;
• use the service to harass, mislead or harm anyone;
• probe, overload, scrape or break the service, or try to get past its limits;
• resell the service or use it to build a competing one.

We may remove content that breaks these rules.

AI output can be wrong

Tastings are generated by AI that researches the web. It can make mistakes. We flag facts we are unsure of, but please double-check anything that matters. Tasty Tasting is for fun and learning. It is not professional, medical, allergy or nutrition advice.

Sharing links

Anyone with a tasting's share link can view that tasting and its photo. Photos are stored at public, unguessable web addresses. Only share links with people you are happy to see them. More in the Privacy policy.

Your content and ours

You keep ownership of the photos and notes you upload. You give us permission to store them, process them with our providers, and display them to you and to anyone you share a link with, only to run the service. The Tasty Tasting name, design, code and the way we put tastings together belong to Uplift Duo or its licensors. You may not copy them without permission.

Ending your use

You can stop using the service at any time. You can ask us to delete your account at hello@upliftduo.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service at risk. If we close your account without cause, we will refund any unspent purchased credits.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will always be available, error-free or accurate. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, Uplift Duo is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is meaningful, we will update the date at the top and, where we can, tell you. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [State to be confirmed], without regard to conflict of laws rules.
